Experiencing the Life of a Green Arrow

I received a text message from a friend of mine who is in Rosales, Pangasinan last December 7, 2013. He asked me if I could go with him to take basic archery this coming December 14, 2013. Since I have no engagements at all, I decided to meet Anthony on the date. Meanwhile, since I did not know that there is an Archery Cafe here in Manila, I asked more details about their cafe.

He said the cafe was called Gandiva. So I Googled it out and found Gandiva - Cafe and Archery Range. Now, I got the name of the place. I searched some blog reviews also to check if we were denoting to one reference just to be sure and the result was same.

Anthony and I were able to find Gandiva. From the moment you step out of the elevator, the Archery Range is visible. We took a rest and checked their menu and ate. I was given a chance to have a glimpse on how to play this game. Since only 1 player was allowed to have a bow and arrow, I watched from a distant. This is how Robin Hood and Katness Everdeen started before they become pro.

Point, Target then Shoot
A shot from Ton

Gandiva Cafe has packages offered to individuals who are interested to experience archery:

(1) For Walk-in (like us) Php 980.00 per hour. Inclusive of Archery equipment, range lane, a target face and an assistance from their Pro-Staff.
(2) For Membership: Php 2, 000.00
(3) Basic Archery Program or Module 1: Php 12, 000.00
(4) Advance Program or Module 2: Php 12, 000.00
(5) Regular Rates: Range Rental / Equipment Rental / Instructor's Fee / Target Face

And the address of Gandiva Cafe is :
Gandiva - Cafe and Archery Range
Unit 703-705 One Corporate Center
Dona Julia Vargas Avenue corner Meralco Avenue
Ortigas Center, Pasig City

Gandiva Cafe has a good ambiance and we have good seats taken near the window.  The ceiling of it is almost similar to a target face.

Archery is really fun but a dangerous game from the time you stretch the string of your bow and attempt to aim target. You really have to pay attention to the instructor. Things might get wrong. Nevertheless, archery is a good experience and worthy to be remembered.

Company Christmas Party 2013

The big night that I am waiting for has already arrived Company Christmas Party. We celebrate this moment last December 13, 2013 here in the rooftop of our building. Our theme is all about 70's and 80's. We are bringing the bringing the retro in 2013 after 43 years of idle.

Unfortunately, I didn't suit up for this event. I have a terrible time management that day I don't know what happen but that's what happen to me. I am also late. If I wait much longer in SM Gift Wrapping Section. I wouldn't received any gift from raffle they had drawn that night.

I received 2 raffle gifts and both of them are related to Hygienic products and a 1000 Gift Card from Healthy Options. Now I have more to enjoy when taking  bath using the gifts that I received. Guess what?! I also received a second complete set of hygeinic product for shower AGAIN!  What a lucky night for me, huh?!

The exchange gift came. We hid our real name to the name of local to international celebrities. My name is Gabby Concepcion and the name of my baby is Lea Salonga. Unfortunately, My wish wasn't granted. Because fundals is already phased out in the market. So the retailer who still have this fundals are possible the last piece you can get or worst the size is too large already. So i ended up receiving cash instead. But that's okay. This could be the start of my journey of finding fundals.

We wrapped up the night by having a group picture from our department. I really enjoy the night. I really had a blast and even had a time to blog this on the next morning before I meet Anthony for our Archery experience in Gandiva.

WestJet gives an early Christmas gift to valued customer

An officemate of mine (Peter Peñaflor) shared some story about the news he heard and watched recently. And I don't believe about what he said so what I did is dig more details about this gossip. I will call it gossip for now since I haven't seen or watch the clip or details about this airport.

So I asked more details about this gossip he is talking about. Peter said google it for yourself and use this phrase " Santa gives gift in airport ". So I googled it out and read some article about this and as I was really touched and fascinated.

WestJet can be called as the modern Santa Claus for 2013.

ABS-CBN: Honesto: A young boy who doesn't lie

Honesto is the newest primetime kiddie series of ABS-CBN and started airing last October 28, 2013 (Monday). I wasn't able to watched the pilot episode but I already have an idea about what the series is all about.

Honesto is about a young boy who is afraid to tell a lie. Whenever he lies his nose gets big. The only solution to make his nose get bet to its real shape is to tell the truth and nothing but the truth.

Keeping watching honesto and you will learn more values as the days goes by.

I would like to relate the SMS I received yesterday. I wasn't able to post it on time. But this SMS is telling a lie. My brother is in good condition. And this number he/she sends as SMS owned by a man not a woman.

Guess what I replied to the number:

SMS from a fraud texter
Taken from my phone

Manila Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT1) with their Landmarks

Fares and Tickets

Since the beginning LRT 1 initially started using token amounting of Php 10.00 for you to access the LRT facility. I remember the days that when buying token was easy and convenient. Many establishments are selling tokens within the vicinity of each LRT stations.

The first Railway in Metro Manila

LRT Administration made some upgrade of their facilities after few years. They started selling electronic tickets. Wherein you can purchase single journey ticket from Php 12.00 to the maximum amount of Php 15.00 and the other one called Store Value amounting of Php 100.00. Which enables you to use it as many as you can.

Having a Store Value ticket you can use it to the fullest until the last peso. For example, if you buy a single journey ticket it will cost you around Php 12.00. But if you purchase store value that has an equivalent to 4 rides back and forth already (12 x 8= Php 96.00). And you still have remaining Php 4.00 on your store value card. Therefore you have 1 FREE RIDE going to your next destination and you save Php 8.00 for that 1 ride.

Let me give you some landmarks of each LRT Station as your guide or reference going to your desired destination.

IslandMediaAsia is now on TV5 as Juan Direction

I want to witness about the roaming gossip here in Manila that there is a group of model plus handsome guys roaming around manila seeking and doing some work of ordinary people like selling buko, taho and make pushing a cart in the railway of PNR. In short, they are making some social experiment. Showcasing the daily lives of our Filipino countrymen.

Members of IslandMediaAsia

I haven't seen the guys behind the Youtube sensation under the name IslandMediaAsia. But I was able to watch some of their videos. Indeed, they are handsome and hunk all at the same time. I am really fascinated that they exert an effort doing such work. I am really amazed that they like to experience the work of their kababayans with no regrets and finished the task with a big smile on their face and on their heart.

For your information IslandMediaAsia guys already stepped up to another level. They already have their own segment on Channel Kapatid TV5  and the name of their program called Juan Direction and hosted by your truly Michael McDonnell, Charlie Sutcliffe, Daniel Marsh, Brian Wilson and Henry Edwards. Take note, they are Half British and Half Filipino.

Catch Juan Direction every Saturday10:00 PM to10:30 PM.

Green Sweetened Pinipig

I love halo-halo especially if it has a pinipig on top. I love the smell of pinipig.  Pinipig looks like a flattened light brown kind of rice. It's usually smashed up manually by a wooden stick similar to a barbell.

I have no idea where it originates until today. I was able to witnessed and ate  a fresh pinipig with condensed milk. Both ingredients are mixed and chilled.

Pinipig is color green when it is fresh. And here's what it's look like when served.

Smell of Fresh Pinipig

It's my first time to eat green pinipig. And I love it even more. The taste almost similar to the one I used to eat. But it's good to taste variety of food once in a while.
