Q1: What's RFID?

Answer: Radio Frequency IDentification

Q2: What's the use of RFID?

Answer: Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is mostly similar to BEEP card we usually used it when we ride on a LRT/MRT train. It's a wireless non-contact device which uses a radio frequency waves to transfer data from toll machine which we are using in Toll booth like NLEX, Cavite, C5 Link and CALAX.

RFID also use to tracks your travel from starting point to an end point.

Q3: Easytrip and Autosweep are using RFID?

Answer: YES! They are currently implementing to use RFID to all toll booths like NLEX, Cavitex C5 Link and CALAX. They are encouraging vehicle owner from Class 1, 2,  and 3 to use register their vehicle not later than November 30.

Q3: Why until November 30, 2020?

Answer: Due to pandemic (COVID-19), They are encouraging all travelers to use RFID stickers. Because they want to implement the Cashless booth and to lessen the number of covid-19 as well. 

Q4: What is Easytrip?

Answer: Easytrip is the cashless payment system being used or implemented by the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC). Easytrip RFID stickers are used in the following tollways: NLEX, SCTEX, C5 Link, Cavitex and CALAX.

Q5: What is Autosweep?

Answer: Autosweep is the cashless payment system being used or implemented by the San Miguel Coporation Infrastructure. Autosweep RFID stickers are used in the following tollways: SLEX, SKYWAY, NAIAX, STARTOLL, TPLEX and MCX.

Q6: Do I need to have them both?

Answer: If you are a frequent traveler having them both is highly recommended since it covers all the tollways in the entire Luzon. Plus, it will be convenient to use during your travel to avoid long queue. Also, you can avoid having a contact with toll personnel by giving your cash payment. You can never tell if the toll personnel or the money itself contains has COVID-19.

Sample of Cancellation Letter Issued by BIR RDO

When we do business here in the Philippines. Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) will require you to have a POS vendor/supplier. POS vendor/supplier are responsible in creating or customizing your punching order requirements  or they may have software specializes in taking orders.  POS machines can make the life of your cashier much easier when taking orders from customer and up-sell.

POS supplier/vendor are response in registering ung POS machines. However, when taxpayer decided to stop business or stop operation. Taxpayer will be responsible in cancelling/decommission/retiring of their POS machines.

Taxpayer will coordinate to their local RDO when will be their schedule of the said cancellation and it will be relayed to your POS supplier/vendor so they can support you and assist you all throughout the cancellation process.

According to sources, it takes more than or 30 days before you can receive a schedule from your local RDO for cancellation. Simply because they handling too many establishments who are under this kind of process.

Here's the sample of cancellation letter that will be issued to the taxpayer once the POS machine(s) has already been cancelled in the BIR EACCREG portal.

BIR Procedure - POS/ CRM / SPM Permit Cancellation (Addt'l info)

The problem is that you cannot use the POS units after POS inspection/ cancellation by the BIR until new permits are applied for the POS units.

We have 2 options:

1. Request the BIR to add a suffix in the POS serial number so that the eAccreg system will accept the permit application. If we do this, the store can immediately use the POS machines after POS inspection/ cancellation by the BIR because ANSI can already configure the new BIR permits to the POS machines.
2. Request to BIR to cancel half of the POS machine and once we re-applied new permit for the POS machine, we schedule ANSI to install the new server and configure the new POS permit so that the store can use the POS machine.  Afterwards, we schedule the cancellation of the remaining POS and re-apply again new permit and schedule again ANSI to configure the remaining POS machine(s).

Please see section 4.1.5 of the attached BIR Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 72-2018 regarding adding a suffix to the serial number of the POS.

                      4.1.5 The supplier/provider and the taxpayer-user shall submit a consolidated  

                               Z-reading, e-Journal, back-end reports and other reports,such as but not 

                               limited to,  Void/Cancelled/Return/Refund and SC/PWDE Reports, 

                               whichever the applicable, from all machines subject to withdrawal from

                               use due to repair, upgrade, and modification, for reference, record 

                               purposes and data matchin with eSales Report which shall be attached

                               as a separate Annex, if applicable.

                          

 In order to authorize the simultaneous registration of the new accredited software or upgrade of software to be installed in the same machine with application for cancellation  of the old software, the taxpayer shall secure approval from the concerned LTS-Office/Division/LTDO/RDO to add a distinct prefix/suffix to the serial number of the sales machines to allow registration of the new software consisting of serial number of the machine followed by prefix/suffix.

Example: 123456789 into 123456789-A/123456789-1/123456789A
